NeuroWork

The complex for evoked potentials analysis. (C) SMC MBN, Moscow, 1990-2000.

Complex NeuroWork The method of evoked potentials (EP) allows not only to determine the structural level of analyzer decease but quantitatively estimate the character of the sensory function decease of the human in the different chains of the analyzer. The method EP has the particular value and uniqueness for determination of the sensory diseases of the children of the very earliest age. The possibility to produce the various stimuli and to independently develop the complicated experimental schemes allows to utilize the complex for the neurophysiologic investigations of the cognitive functions of the human.

The system may be used in the neurology, neuro surgery, defectology, clinical audiometry, forensic-psychiatry, military and job expertise.

The main functions of the complex:

  • the aquisition and analysis of up to 32 channel of the long-latency visual, auditory and somatosensory EP;
  • the neurophysiologic investigations with recording of short- latency auditory and somatosensoric EP;
  • objective audiometry by use of precision sound stimulator;
  • high-quality isolated amplifier provide reliable recording of brain potentials even without the shield chamber;
  • the complect of the stimulators provides the completition of the wide set of diagnostic tests in each of three sensory modalities, including the pattern-stimulation.

The software of the complex:

The program NeuroWork was written by Andrey Pirozhenko in 1991-1999 for the Scientific-Medical Firm MBN, Moscow, Russia.

Auditory EP The short-latence auditory evoked potentials with montage M1-Cz and M2-Cz recorded with stimulation in left ear (top 2 traces) and in right ear (bottom 2 traces). For the verification the record was repeated, 2000 averagings in each trial. The blue curves for the first trial and the green for the second are similar showing the good quality of the curves.
Somatosensory EP The somatosensory evoked potentials were recorded with stimulation of the left median nerve (top 2 curves C4'-Fz and Erbi-Fz) and the right median nerve (bottom 2 curves C3'-Fz and Erbi-Fz). The numeric values for the peaks latencies and amplitudes and left-to-right asymmetry are automatically displayed in the table.
Visual EP This visual evoked potential was recorded in montage O1-Fz and O2-Fz for the pattern stimulation of left eye (top 2 traces) and right eye (bottom 2 traces). For the verification the record was repeated. The blue curves for the first trial and the green for the second are similar showing the good quality of the curves after only 30 averages.

The hardware of the complex:

  • 1-8 channel isolated amplifier of the biopotentials:
  • simultaneous aquisition of up to 8 channels with the sample rate up to 40000 Hz in each channel,
  • the wide range of frequency bands;
